The Exhibit Staging Center (ESC) was formerly a City of Pittsburgh public works building dating back to the 1960’s. The ESC is situated on a 40,964 square foot site adjacent to the Center for Sustainable Landscapes. Today, the building has been transformed into a modern structure with state of the art mechanical and electrical systems and functions as a work space for building flower show props and other support systems for the Conservatory. The 11,253 square foot building, completed in 2019, also serves as a center for the physical and mental wellness of employees with a yoga studio and fitness center. The ESC is open to visitors for tours of the facility. The ESC aims to achieve LEED Platinum, WELL Platinum and Living Building Challenge certifications. Like the Center for Sustainable Landscapes, the ESC is located on a remediated brownfield. The site offers native plant landscapes, a rain garden, a yoga court and covered deck for social seating and mental restoration.
