Fall Flower Show 1947
Oct. 31 – Nov. 30, 1947
15,000 chrysanthemums representing 42 varieties were primed by Phipps’ staff for this spectacular show, where they bloomed alongside palms, orchids and an outdoor garden-style display with trees and shrubs. The blooms performed so well, in fact, that the exhibit was extended an additional week beyond its originally scheduled closing.
