Tour Only Options

As alternatives to field trips with formal classroom lessons, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens offers several different docent-led and self-guided tour options for school and other groups. 

Docent-Led Tours

Docent-led tours are led by trained volunteers who possess a wealth of knowledge about Phipps, plants and sustainability.

The cost of a guided tour without a field trip lesson is $8 per child (2 – 18 years old). Tour groups receive one complimentary adult admission for every eight children registered. Additional adults pay $17. Tours are based on docent availability; you must register at least four weeks in advance for these tours. Tours are approximately one hour in length. Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tours allow you to move at your own pace and are recommended for pre-school and kindergarten age groups. Prices for self-directed visits are $7 for children (2 – 18 years) and $17 for adults. Registration is required in advance by calling 412-441-4442, ext. 3925 or email edu@phipps.conservatory.org. The program fee is due upon arrival at Phipps; please designate one person to make one payment for the entire group.
