Weddings Under Glass: Samantha and Tim

Weddings Under Glass is a monthly blog series where we highlight the stories of couples who chose to begin their happily ever after in the lush backdrop of Phipps, named one of the best outdoor garden wedding venues by Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

Samantha and Tim’s love story begins with the couple matching on the popular dating app Tinder. Upon meeting, the pair had quickly become inseparable! When they attended a weekend getaway trip to Put-in-Bay and Tim popped the question in front of the lake, it wasn’t a shock to anyone but Samantha! To her surprise, her friends and family came out of hiding spots to take photos and videos of the moment for them to be able to relive forever.

Samantha had attended a wedding at Phipps in the past, and she knew that it would be the perfect venue for her special day. The couple used white, gray and hints of blue in their color scheme to create their elegant dream wedding, that was Pittsburgh at heart. “We felt so special. We even had a guest make a comment that a celebrity must be getting married here because of how elegant and high-end everything looked!” says Samantha.  

This couple held their summer ceremony in the outdoor garden before they took the celebration over to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium for their reception. Since then, they have not yet gone on a honeymoon, for now they are just enjoying time to relax at home and continue with their lives, now as husband and wife.
