Phipps Orchids Receive National Awards!

On Sat., Feb. 8, Phipps attended the 45th annual Paphiopedilum Forum hosted by the National Capital Orchid Society. This conference featured internationally renowned speakers, a wonderful selection of Paphiopedilum and Phragmipedium plants for sale along with a show table featuring outstanding show plants to be judged by the American Orchid Society judging. Phipps was extremely successful, earning 10 awards at the forum! Scroll through this blog post to see a few of these beautiful winners.

Paphiopedilum Cappamagna V.E. Sander - 1st place
 

Paphiopedilum Eridge - 3rd place
 

Paphiopedilum Harbor ‘Balthazar’ - 2nd place
 

Paphiopedilum Lathamianum ‘China’ - 1st place
 

Paphiopedilum Lady Rothschild -2nd place
 

In addition to awards from the Paphiopedilum Forum, Phipps received a prestigious award from the American Orchid Society. This award, called the 2023 CARLYLE A. LUER AWARD, was given to Barbosella australis ‘Phipps Starburst’.
