Phipps Conservatory Presents the 2020-2021 Fairchild Challenge!
Phipps Conservatory invites area high schools, middle schools and — new this year — elementary schools to take part in The Fairchild Challenge, a standards-based, environmental education outreach program that gives students an opportunity to shine. Developed by the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, Fl., and adopted by Phipps as a satellite partner in 2008, The Fairchild Challenge offers a menu of interdisciplinary challenges for grades 6 – 8 and 9 – 12, along with a limited number of challenges for grades 2 – 5, attracting students of diverse interests, abilities, talents and backgrounds. The Challenge empowers young people to engage in civic life and encourages them to become energetic and knowledgeable members of their communities.
Participation in the Fairchild Challenge at Phipps is absolutely free. To register and learn more about this exciting outreach program, please visit the Fairchild Challenge webpage.
Phipps is happy to continue offering this important environmental education program amidst this global pandemic by implementing a number of modifications. Please review the updated Program Policies to learn about this year’s program adaptations.
