Our Summer High School Internship Is Open for Applications
For nearly 20 years Phipps Conservatory has offered an extraordinary summer internship opportunity for high school students, and applications are now being accepted for 2017! Whether you are passionate about environmental sustainability or want to immerse yourself in vegetable gardening, there is so much you can gain from Phipps’ Learning for a Greener Future Summer 2017 Internship.
We are looking for highly motivated high school students with an interest in the well-being of the planet to serve as summer interns in our six-week, paid internship program which will run from June 19 – July 27. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age by Mon., June 19, have at least one year of school left to complete, and meet the household income requirement defined in the supplemental application.
Our internship provides hands-on experience working with our science education and horticulture staff, along with classes, service projects and field trips. Students are exposed to a wide range of “green” concepts including: vegetable gardening; healthy eating; environmental justice; local, national and global environmental issues; sustainability; photography and environmental journalism; and green careers.
Sound interesting? More information about the internship, its qualifications and how to apply can be found on our High School Internship website. Applications are due no later than Sat., April 1. Best of luck!
