Meet Our Botany in Action Scientists This Saturday!
Meet Phipps’ Botany in Action (BIA) Fellows and enjoy presentations about their adventures as global field scientists studying the relationships between people, plants, health and the planet at this special one-day event, free with Conservatory admission, this Saturday, September 26th during our Tropical Forest Congo Festival!
This year's Botany in Action Fellows will be stationed throughout the Tropical Forest displaying research tools, sharing stories from with field, answering visitor questions and offering an inside look at the intriguing work and lives of field scientists.
So stop by the Tropical Forest Congo Festival this Saturday between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM to meet our visiting Botany in Action Fellows and learn all about their work!
Visiting Fellows:
Chelsie Romulo, George Mason University
Research Focus: Peru – Working to conserve and sustainably manage the ecologically, culturally, and economically important palm tree Mauritia flexuosa (aguaje) in the Peruvian Amazon.
Jessica Turner, West Virginia University
