Gothic Gargoyles and a
Giant Agave!
Gothic meets gorgeous as gargoyles and other mythic creatures stand guard over artfully arranged summer blooms during our much-anticipated Summer Flower Show. Join us every Friday through Sept. 10 (5-9 p.m.) for Summertime Gargoyle Nights, featuring discounted appetizers, $4 fresh-squeezed hard lemonade and docent-led historic gargoyle tours, presented in collaboration with Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation. Tours are free with general admission and begin at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Combo tickets available.
Last Chance: See the Agave americana! Our mighty succulent, estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, has endured the elements, growing 33+ feet through the roof of our Desert Room since March. It has survived freezing temperatures, storms and whipping winds, which recently caused damage to its stalk. Against all odds, bandaged with duct tape and stabilized by a splint and ropes, the giant plant recently bloomed. Visit now! The agave will not survive much longer.
