Phipps Conservatory Invites Families to Enjoy Beloved Pittsburgh Tradition
Pittsburgh, PA – The holiday season isn't complete without a visit to Phipps Holiday Magic for festive displays and glowing gardens, opening Sat., Nov. 16! With a whimsical theme of “Enchantment”, guests are sure to be captivated by a forest of fantasy. Phipps has pulled out all the stops for this year's Winter Flower Show with magnificent new displays featuring mystical creatures, gorgeous holiday trees and our signature floral delights, including amaryllis, orchids and 21 varieties of poinsettias. Plus, the beauty isn't just indoors: our celebrated Winter Light Garden fills our outdoor spaces with spectacular lights in vivid shades that will awe guests of all ages.
Get ready to be dazzled by these new and exciting features:
- an enchanted entrance into the holiday season, with color-changing lights and fantastic flora;
- a magical unicorn topiary surrounded by iridescent snowflakes and warm white lighting;
- a show-stopping light curtain hanging above red, gold, silver and white poinsettia trees;
- a pair of serene swans swimming around a sky-high orb tree covered in white twinkling spheres;
- a fairy tale-inspired display brought to life with a captivating castle and a glowing carriage amid soft pink flora and icicle lights;
- cut trees decked out in light blue, teal, pink, orange and lime green with fluttering fairies flying overhead;
- charming gnomes decorating trees with straw stars, mushrooms, berries and pinecones;
- trees glowing throughout the Tropical Forest exhibit to create a canopy of cascading lights;
- gleaming garland frames light up the entrance to the Japanese Garden while 50 lanterns illuminate the pathway;
- blue lights beam among snowflakes, snowballs and silver details to create an amazing archway in the Outdoor Garden;
- and much more.
The new Garden Railroad: Movie Magic display is on view, too, with a bustling movie lot home full of whimsical and interactive aspects, including a pirate’s cove, a drive-in theater, and a science fiction scene where the ferocious Phippzilla protects a city from a lanternfly infestation.
