Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Makes List of 10 Best Botanical Gardens in the United States, Media Acknowledgement from Martha Stewart
USA Today Voters Choose Phipps for 2025 List
Pittsburgh, PA – Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is proud to be listed as one of USA Today’s 10 best botanical gardens in the United States. Botanical gardens were nominated by an expert panel then voted on by readers, each showcasing vast collections of plant life and the desire to conserve plant diversity.
For the last 130 years, Phipps has excelled in connecting people to the beauty of nature. In recent decades, the Conservatory has evolved into one of the cultural sector’s leading advocates for advancing green-building practices, sustainable gardening, environmental awareness and climate action. All the while, the Conservatory continues to refine its horticultural excellence through permanent collections of orchids, bonsai, desert plants and more, as well as its four new signature flower shows each year.
This national recognition is the latest in a series of high-profile recognitions for Pittsburgh’s glasshouse jewel, including a Best Botanical Garden in the U.S. designation from Newsweek readers, the National Medal for Museum and Library Service from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (2024), the Green Power Leadership Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (2024), and the Award for Garden Excellence from the American Public Gardens Association (2023).
Phipps is honored to be chosen by the public and recognized alongside nine wonderful fellow institutions across the country. Read more about the recipients on the 2025 best botanical gardens in a feature on Martha Stewart’s blog.
