Seasonal Camps
Phipps' Seasonal Camps, offered year round, connect youth ages 2 to 12 to nature, science and healthy living through fun, participatory environment-based activities—from growing and cooking their own vegetables, crafting with recycled materials, and drawing and photographing nature while exploring the Conservatory and outdoor gardens. Each camp day includes a healthy plant-related snack.

Summer Camp Lunch Care

This summer, Phipps is offering lunch care for 3 weeks of camp:

Lunch care is $10 for all 5 days.
Campers are to bring a bagged lunch and will spend the time between noon and 1:30pm eating and having free-play in natural settings. Lunch care will be overseen by Phipps staff and volunteers.

We Like Dirt (Session 1)

Little Sprouts (Ages 2&3) w/ an adult
Campers enrolled in this program will investigate underground life, search for critters that live in dirt, plant and dig with kid-sized tools, make mud pies, and learn how plants grow.

My Five Senses

Backyard Art

Seedling Scientists (Ages 4&5)
Young artists in this camp will gather hidden natural treasures from Phipps’ gardens and turn them into art, creating eco-friendly bird feeders, collection pouches and clay pots.

Just like characters in their favorite storybooks, kids will grow giant pumpkins and beanstalks while learning about the magical world of plants through fun fairy tale-themed activities.

Dancin' with the Plants

Kids involved in this session will connect with nature by learning dance moves in the forest, stretching out by a flowing waterfall, and making nutritious treats from the veggie garden.

For this culinary adventure, children will play in the garden with beloved book and movie characters, growing favorite foods and then making fresh homemade treats to enjoy.
Art Outside

Budding Botanists (Ages 6&7)
Participants in this camp will look for inspiration in Phipps’ gardens, and then create exciting artwork—such as jewelry and mosaics—using repurposed items and found objects.

Plant Your Plate

Budding Botanists (Ages 6&7)
Campers involved in this program will spend lots of time in the garden, learning recipes for making favorite foods, sprouting beans, pickling cucumbers and planting veggies to take home.

Bugs in the 'Burgh
